Job Description

Full Time, Continuing, multi-grade K-3.<br><br>Effective September 1st, 2026.<br><br>This multi-grade, geographically remote opportunity is an ideal opportunity for the applicant who:<br><br><ul><li>Has an interest in remote teaching</li><li>Has the ability to teach a wide variety of subjects and grade levels in multi-grade settings</li><li>Has the desire to be surrounded by nature</li><li>Has the ability to work well with First Nations communities</li><li>Is comfortable with basic amenities </li><li>Has adequate transportation that would be appropriate for multi-surface highways/roads<br><br></li></ul>This school operates on a 4.5 day per week schedule (extended days) with Friday afternoon off.<br><br><strong>Special Qualifications Required<br><br></strong>To learn more about the area, please visit:<br><br><ul><li>Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (this position is not eligible for an LMIA job sponsored offer)</li><li>Training and experience teaching multigrades at the primary level (including kindergarten)</li><li>Ability to teach a wide-range of learners</li><li>Experience working in geographically remote locations (or relevant life experience living in geographically remote locations)</li><li>Valid BC Teaching Certification with the Teacher Regulation Branch<br><br></li></ul><strong>Salary<br><br></strong>The salary of this assignment is based on our current salary grid and upon verification of your BC TQS as well as verification of years of service from previous employers. The current salary range is $63, 347.00 to $116, 190.00 per annum, paid over 10 months.<br><br>Rural Recruitment and Retention Allowance as well as Rural Travel is paid monthly, during the school year, as part of the provisions in our collective agreement.<br><br><strong>Accommodations<br><br></strong>Subsidized teacherages (mobile homes) are available to the successful candidate and can be furnished, semi-furnished or empty to accommodate your own furniture.<br><br><strong>Information for Applicants<br><br></strong>In School District 27 it is acknowledged that we humbly work, learn, and live on the traditional, ancestral, unceded, and shared lands of the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot’tin, and Dakelh people. The District has engaged in long term contracts with several (up to 6) educational leaders. Claydon Campus encompasses both <strong>Claydon High School</strong> and <strong>Claydon Primary School</strong>.<br><br>You will work closely with our Premises Manager and Estate Team to ensure that we are fully compliant in all matters concerning Health and Safety.
