Our client is seeking to hire a highly result driven Business Development Manager, Emerging Corporate Banking who will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of emerging corporate clients by delivering tailored financial solutions, deepening client relationships, driving sustainable revenue growth, and ensuring superior credit quality. The role provides strategic leadership in originating new business, managing risk, coordinating cross-functional teams, and positioning the bank as the preferred financial partner for high-growth businesses. The ideal candidate for this role must be a commercially driven banking professional with strong relationship management skills, deep credit expertise, and the ability to build and grow a profitable emerging corporate portfolio while maintaining excellent asset quality. S/he must be able to demonstrate strategic leadership, inspire high-performing teams, and consistently deliver sustainable business growth through innovative, client-focused financial solutions. Key Responsibilities Business Development Develop and execute the Emerging Corporate Banking strategy aligned with the client's business objectives. Grow assets, liabilities, trade finance, treasury, transaction banking, and fee-based income from assigned clients. Identify and acquire new emerging corporate customers across key economic sectors. Expand wallet share through cross-selling of the client's products and services. Build a robust pipeline of prospective clients and conversion opportunities. Relationship Management Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of emerging corporate clients. Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, industries, financial performance, and strategic priorities. Maintain regular engagement with senior executives and key decision-makers. Deliver exceptional client experience while ensuring timely resolution of customer issues. Credit and Risk Management Originate, structure, and negotiate lending transactions within the bank's risk appetite. Conduct comprehensive financial and credit analysis. Prepare high-quality credit proposals and recommendations. Monitor portfolio performance to ensure asset quality and early identification of potential risks. Ensure compliance with all credit policies, regulatory requirements, and internal risk standards. Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, AML/KYC standards, and internal policies. Maintain high ethical standards in all business dealings. Support audit and regulatory reviews. Stakeholder Management Work closely with Risk, Credit, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Product teams. Represent the client at industry forums, business associations, and networking events. Build relationships with regulators, industry bodies, and strategic partners where appropriate. Leadership & Team Management: Lead, coach, and mentor Relationship Managers and Banking Officers. Foster a high-performance, customer-centric culture. Support talent development, succession planning, and performance management. Encourage collaboration across business units. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or Master's degree is an advantage. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CFA, CIBN, or equivalent is desirable. Experience: 10–12 years of banking experience. Minimum of 5 years in Corporate Banking or Commercial Banking relationship management. Proven experience managing emerging corporate or mid-market clients. Demonstrated success in business development, credit structuring, and portfolio management. Experience leading teams is highly desirable. Proven track record in business acquisition, deposit mobilization, and portfolio management. Experience in credit analysis and structuring of banking solutions for corporate clients.
