This is a fully onsite role requiring the successful candidate to work from the company's office in Nigeria. Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers. • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development planning. • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent. Technical Delivery • Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software products. • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders to prioritize engineering initiatives. • Drive engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, documentation, and CI/CD processes. Architecture & Technology • Guide technical architecture and system design decisions. • Ensure software solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and reliable. • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that improve engineering productivity. • Champion software development standards and engineering governance. Project & Resource Management • Plan engineering resources and manage team capacity effectively. • Track project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve blockers. • Ensure effective sprint planning, backlog management, and agile ceremonies. • Monitor engineering KPIs and continuously improve delivery performance. Stakeholder Management • Work closely with senior leadership to align engineering priorities with business goals. • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Provide regular project status updates and engineering reports. Operational Excellence • Promote DevOps culture and operational efficiency. • Ensure system reliability, performance, security, and compliance. • Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. • Master's degree is an added advantage. • Minimum of 7–10 years of software engineering experience. • At least 3–5 years in an Engineering Manager, Software Development Manager, or Technical Lead role. • Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams. • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies. • Experience managing multiple software development projects simultaneously. • Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, and cloud technologies. • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
