We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Finance to lead our finance function and serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and executive leadership team. This role is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership across financial planning, treasury, accounting, tax, compliance, risk management, and corporate governance. Operating within the dynamic travel and tourism industry, the Head of Finance will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial performance, optimising cash flow, managing foreign exchange exposure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting sustainable business expansion. What You Will Do Provide Strategic Financial Leadership • Develop and execute the organization's long-term financial strategy in alignment with business objectives and growth plans. • Lead the annual budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and resource allocation processes to support informed decision-making. • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, Board, and executive leadership team on investments, business expansion, technology initiatives, and operational performance. • Evaluate the profitability and financial performance of key business lines, including corporate travel management, airline ticketing, visa services, tours, charter services, and other travel solutions. Lead Treasury, Foreign Exchange & Cash Flow Management • Develop and implement treasury strategies that optimize liquidity, working capital, and cash flow across the organization. • Manage foreign exchange (FX) exposure by developing strategies that mitigate currency volatility and support international supplier settlements. • Ensure timely settlement of financial obligations, including IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) commitments, to maintain uninterrupted business operations. • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial banks, financial institutions, and foreign exchange partners to support funding and liquidity requirements. Strengthen Credit Control & Revenue Assurance • Establish and oversee robust credit management policies for corporate clients, government agencies, embassies, and institutional customers. • Monitor receivables, improve collection performance, and optimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) to strengthen cash flow. • Oversee commission reconciliation processes with airlines, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), hotels, and travel partners to ensure revenue accuracy and prevent financial leakage. • Drive financial discipline through effective monitoring of revenue streams and commercial performance. Ensure Financial Governance, Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure full compliance with all applicable financial reporting standards, statutory regulations, and tax requirements. • Oversee the timely preparation and remittance of statutory obligations, including Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), PAYE, and other regulatory filings. • Maintain effective internal control frameworks, financial policies, and governance processes to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk. • Partner with internal and external auditors to facilitate efficient audit processes and implement audit recommendations. Deliver Financial Reporting & Business Performance Insights • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). • Develop meaningful financial dashboards and management reports that provide actionable insights into business performance. • Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators, including profitability, operating cash flow, gross margins, revenue growth, and working capital efficiency. • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. Requirements What We are Looking For • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. • A Master's degree (MBA, MSc Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field) is an added advantage. Professional Certification • Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCA is mandatory. Experience • Minimum of 5–7 years' progressive finance experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior finance leadership role such as Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar. • Experience within the travel, aviation, hospitality, logistics, or other service-oriented industries is highly desirable. • Hands-on experience with IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) processes, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), multi-currency accounting, and foreign exchange management will be a distinct advantage.
