Job Description The Fiber Optic Team Leader (FTTH / Telecom Networks) is responsible for supervising and coordinating field teams involved in fiber network deployment, subscriber connections, and maintenance activities. The role ensures that all operations are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and comply with HSE and Fiberco procedures. As a key operational leader, the Team Leader manages field execution, monitors performance, and serves as the link between teams and management. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a results-driven mindset. Key Responsibilities A. Field Operations Coordination • Plan, organize, and supervise field team activities (D1, D2, D3). • Ensure timely and high-quality execution of all operations. • Assign tasks and monitor progress of field interventions. • Ensure availability of required tools, materials, and workforce. B. Technical Supervision • Control and validate the quality of fiber installations (cabling, splicing, connections). • Provide technical support to teams on complex tasks. • Ensure compliance with engineering designs and operator standards. • Approve completed work before service activation or delivery. C. Performance Management • Track key performance indicators (productivity, quality, deadlines). • Identify gaps and implement corrective actions. • Provide regular reporting to management. D. Team Management • Lead, coach, and motivate field technicians. • Support onboarding and skills development of team members. • Ensure discipline and adherence to company standards. • Foster a collaborative and performance-oriented work environment. E. Maintenance & Incident Management • Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities. • Manage critical incidents and coordinate resolution. • Ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction. F. Quality, Safety & Compliance • Enforce strict adherence to HSE rules and regulations. • Ensure quality control and compliance with client requirements. • Monitor adherence to internal processes and procedures. G. Reporting & Documentation • Consolidate field reports and operational data. • Ensure proper update of tracking tools and databases. • Escalate risks, issues, and key insights to management. Profile Required Education • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Telecommunications, Networks, Electrical Engineering, or related field. • Fiber optics / FTTH certification is a strong advantage. Experience • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in fiber optics, including team supervision or coordination. Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of FTTH architecture (D1, D2, D3). • Solid understanding of fiber deployment and splicing techniques. • Ability to read and interpret network designs and diagrams. • Experience with testing tools (OTDR, power meter). Soft Skills • Strong leadership and team management abilities. • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. • Results-oriented with high attention to detail. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work under pressure and in field conditions. • Customer-focused mindset.
